Isho Ningyo
Isho ningyo are ningyo wearing costumes made of cloth.Their subjects are many—foreign customs, with Chinese children or sages, or people of the floating world (actors and courtesans, among others), which give a sense of customs at that time.Another type is filled with fascinating dramatic vigor, as in Takeda ningyo, which are thought to have been based on the Takeda mechanical karakuri ningyo performances in Osaka.
